What it isGrape-flavored IR liquid methylphenidate inhibiting dopamine and norepinephrine reuptake for ADHD (METHYLIN SOLUTION, 2002; approved ages 6-17, adults).
Why this oneThe solution permits fine dose adjustment and easy swallowing while retaining 3-4 h (Carlat Table 1) of immediate-release coverage.
What limits itMeasure with an oral syringe; appetite loss, insomnia, blood-pressure elevation, and misuse risk remain.

Instructions
- Administer 30–45 minutes before meals
- Adults unable to sleep: give last dose before 6 p.m.

Contraindications
- Concurrent MAOI use or within 14 days of stopping an MAOI (hypertensive crisis)

- Risks in serious cardiac disease/sudden death
- Increased blood pressure and heart rate
- Psychiatric adverse reactions
- Priapism
- Peripheral vasculopathy (Raynaud's)
- Long-term growth suppression in pediatrics
- Angle-closure glaucoma
- Tics/Tourette's worsening
